Western Game Pty. Ltd. had its origins in 1977 when Graham and Cynthia Morrison read a book entitled "Gold on Four Feet", written by the late Ronald Anderson. The book outlined the potential that existed for deer farming to become a major contributor to mainstream farming. In 1977 traditional forms of farming were still relatively prosperous and the idea of diversification amongst farmers was unheard of. The years that were to follow were filled with skepticism, frustrations and sometimes outright opposition as the family was forced to fight hard in order to establish a deer industry in Western Australia.

From very humble beginnings Western Game has developed into a thriving company that provides an extensive service to the deer industry, marketing not only its own deer products but those from many other farms all over the state. Through quality orientated projects like Margaret River Venison (MRV), Western Game has given WA’s deer products a premium position in the market place and significantly increased returns to farmers in the process.
