Tips for cooking a Shoulder Roast
Rolled shoulder roasts usually weigh in
at around 1kg.
Preheat your oven to 220 degrees.
We suggest searing them first in a hot pan with a little
oil to bring out the flavours. Then placing them into an oven bag with about 1 cup of red wine along with garlic and
herbs of your choice.
Roasting in the oven for approximatley one hour (for 1kg
roast). Then remove from the oven, cover and rest for 10 minuites before slicing.
Venison lends itself to sweet sauces eg, cranberry, plum
or a red wine reduction.
